Willows School Installs School Radio Solutions Package
The School Radio Solutions, Portable Radio Studio Package at Willows School.
In 2009, the Willows School in Rotherham, UK, became a specialist centre for cognitive learning and is recognised as a school of excellence for the way in which children and young people learn, think and understand. It is arranged into two departments, the Lower, (years 3 to 8) and the Upper, (years 9 to11) each operating within a framework of 5 to 10 pupils per class in order to encourage secure meta-cognition and confidence.
In March 2011, the school purchased a School Radio Solutions, Portable Radio Studio Package, in order to aid pupil speaking and listening skills and to implement both radio and podcasting qualifications. The package is also used to give the school lunchtime broadcast via the in-house public address system.
Stephen Green, the schools ICT Co-ordinator, said that he chose to buy a School Radio Solutions package, because the radio package offered excellent value for money.
The School Radio Solutions Portable Radio Studio Package is ideal for use in multiple class-rooms where you may need to wheel it from one room to another and is a great aid to improving pupil confidence, motivation, self-esteem, speaking and listening skills.
It is superbly finished and consists of a mobile rack of equipment with an acoustic table-top in which sits a Sonifex S1 radio broadcast mixer. Microphones, headphones, a mic-live sign and an LCD screen running radio playout software are all provided. In fact it contains everything you need for your school radio station at a price that you can afford.
